VOLSET
FOUNDATION was founded in 1997 in a volunteer General Assembly held in the Science Lab at Nakaseke
Secondary School, Luwero District. The founders were Doctor Xeviers Mubiru (late) and Mr. Festus Bazira. Doctor
X. Mubiru was devoted to assisting the AIDS clients and orphaned/needy children. The birth of this organization was
as a relief to these vulnerable people. Mubiru and Bazira were later joined by Mr.
Samuel Tuhairwe, Mr. Josephus Misisi, Mrs. Mary Bazira, and Ms. Specioza Nabukenya.
VOLSET is registered in the Republic of Uganda as a charitable CBO with
the Ministry of Gender & Social Development - Mukono District.
Membership is open to AIDS Prevention Clubs and local initiatives regardless of religious
or other affiliations. VOLSET is a non-profit organization.
