To supplement the Ugandan government's effort on AIDS Care and Prevention services, VOLSET has opened an Information
Resource Centre at Nakaseke Town, Luwero District, where people from rural communities could receive updated information,
counseling, literature, and home visits for HIV/AIDS positive or bedridden clients.

VOLSET labors to see to it that the rural communities get services right where the people live. Due
to transportation costs and the low economic status of rural residents, it is worth taking services to them and referring
them to where they could get further Support Services such as seminars, workshops, and peer education.
Economic activities
in rural environments involve local trade. Banana trade is part of our local income generating activities. Women
are often seen on top of trade loads to local markets.

Rural Community is attracted to music, drama, video shows related to themes intended to educate people.
Therefore, VOLSET as formed drama groups, video/film shows, VCT team and other related activities.

The readily available means of transportation in our organization are three bicycles for our Community Based
HIV/AIDS Home-care/Visiting Nurse and other volunteers. However, this makes our voluntary services more needed than
ever. We will continue to serve the community until motorized means of transport are acquired.
